The Reverend Canon Sue Pinnington - Chair

Sue has been Vicar of Cottingley since 2000 and was previously Curate of 6 parishes in the diocese of Peterborough having read theology at Durham and Oxford universities. Prior to her ordination she was a Community and Youth Worker in Walsall and Leicester and worked as an administrator for the Church Commissioners.

She enjoys birdwatching, fly fishing, watercolour painting, travel, food and wine, but not necessarily in that order or at the same time.

Nora Whitham MBE

Born in South Africa of Chinese parents, Nora trained in London as a nurse, qualifying in 1964, and as a midwife in 1966. She worked in Vancouver, British Colombia for 2 years, returning to London in 1968 and qualified as a Nurse Tutor in 1975. She married a Yorkshireman in 1976 and has since lived in Bradford. Retiring in November 2000 after 40 years as a Nurse she now finds herself far busier. She was recently elected as a Governor of the Bradford Hospitals Foundation Trust and invited to be a Lay Canon of the Cathedral. Nora enjoys homestyle Chinese cooking.

Irene Senior

Irene was born in Cottingley and after studying at London University and completing professional qualifications in Edinburgh, spent 16 years working in Bradford hospitals in physical and mental health and child protection areas. She moved to the local authority to manage Social Services for people with disabilities and children with special needs.

Irene has worked in the voluntary sector for many years particularly in the hospice movement and in the field of race relations, chairing the House committee at the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice and the Welfare Committee of the former Community Relations Council among many others.

She is giving more time to leisure pursuits now, which include world wide travel, gardening, the theatre and Soroptimism.

Ian J Fletcher FCA (Company Secretary)

Ian is a Chartered Accountant. After training with Thornton Baker, now Grant Thornton, he joined the family practice, Fletcher Greenwood & Co, of which he is now senior partner. Ian acts as advisor to a number of charities. He is also an overenthusiastic supporter of Bradford City football club.

Ian was educated at Woodhouse Grove School and is a former chairman of their former pupils association "Old Grovians". He is married to Hazel and has two adult children.

Ann Gray

Ann is Head of Art and Design at Immanuel CE Community College, Bradford and has previously worked as a teacher, youth leader, enterprise lecturer, designer and parent of two children.

She has extensive experience of managing arts projects for people of all ages and abilities but particularly young people, holding the belief that the "inclusive" nature of the arts offers everyone creative opportunities for self expression as well as stimulating personal and social development.

Ann is committed to Friends of the Earth policies.

Doug Threlfall

Born and educated in Liverpool. Doug's working life started as a messenger boy before he joined Fyffes Group Ltd (worldwide fruit & vegetable company) in 1960. Doug started as a junior warehouse person and worked in various positions before becoming the General Manager of the company's distribution centres in Sheffield, Hull and Bradford. In 1988 he oversaw a new building being erected and managed the centre in Wakefield covering all of Yorkshire, the North East and Lancashire until he retired in June 2003.

Doug trained as a youth worker and has experience of different types of youth work throughout the country. He is a volunteer at the Cottingley Police and Community Contact Point and vice chair of the Cottingley Community Association plus, for his sins, a supporter of Sheffield Wednesday F.C.
